Dangerous Goods:
Dangerous Goods (DG) can often be hard to customs clear and a lot of newer generation brokers tend to avoid these goods. However, the team at CustomsCloud® have a dedicated DG team who are on standby to help with your requests. Just send us the shipment information, along with any other licences or health certificates, and we will get to work!
Security & Safety Declarations (SSD)
An SSD is used by the authorities to analyse potential risks posed to the territory from goods entering the region.
EXS
Exit Summary Declaration (EXS) - This is part of the Safety and Security Declaration; this needs to be accompanied by an ENS, which is the entry summary declaration to be able to enter and exit UK and EU ports of arrival. The only exemption is if the goods are going to Northern Ireland. This is not a standard requirement; however, it is a requirement to submit an EXS when:
- Goods have remained in temporary storage for more than 14 days.
- Goods have remained in temporary storage for less than 14 days, but the import safety and security declaration details are unknown, or the destination/consignee has changed.
- Goods are moved under transit, and there is no full export declaration using either a Transport Accompanying Document (TAD), Transit Security Accompanying Document (TSAD), or a Transports Internationaux Routiers (TIR) Carnet Document.
For complete information on EXS, please visit: www.gov.uk/exs.
ENS
Entry Summary Declaration (ENS) - A requirement from the EU to do a security assessment of all cargo entering EU/UK ports. You do not need to submit an ENS if you are bringing or receiving goods into Northern Ireland from an EU country, moving qualifying NI goods from NI to Great Britain or importing goods to Great Britain from the EU. Goods travelling via rail, air, ship, or 'roll-on-roll-off' must register for the Safety and Security Great Britain Service (S&S GB).
For complete information on ENS, please visit: www.gov.uk/ens.
IPAFFS

- Live animals
- Germinal products
- Animal by-products (ABP)
- High-risk food and feed not of animal origin (HRFNAO)
- Products of animal origin (POAO)

GVMS
Goods Vehicle Movement Service ((GVMS) - A requirement for the UK or non-UK-based hauliers, this will be needed to ensure the driver of the goods can board the ferry/shuttle, cross the EU/UK border and clear goods through customs. GVMS is only for selected ports; please visit the following to search which ports are applicable: www.gov.uk/gvms.
